Dinner

Nightly wood-fired mains, local produce, and a short wine list. Reservations welcome after 5.

Weekend brunch

Biscuits, skillet eggs, and coffee from 9 to 2 on Saturday and Sunday.

Private events

The back room holds 28 for KU weekends, rehearsal dinners, and staff parties.

Bar & patio

Kansas beer, cider, and a covered patio when the weather holds.

Takeout

Call ahead for family trays. Same kitchen, packed to travel.

Catering

Off-site boards and mains for offices in Lawrence and Eudora.

Meet Mara Ellison

Chef-owner Mara Ellison opened Prairie & Pine after years cooking in Lawrence kitchens. The sample story: a grain-forward menu, a small staff, and a room that still feels like a neighborhood table.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes most weeknights. Friday and Saturday we recommend a call — this is a sample policy, not a live reservation desk.

What does dinner cost?

Most mains land between $18 and $32. Brunch plates are $12–$18. We print prices on the board, not in ads.

Is there an emergency / late seating policy?

The kitchen closes at the posted hour. If you are running late, call the demo line; we will not hold a table past 15 minutes on a full night.

Do you serve Lawrence, Eudora, and Baldwin?

Yes — dine-in downtown, catering across Douglas County.
